The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache

Going mental ... :-)

We begin to see, therefore, the importance of selecting our environment with the greatest of care, because environment is the mental feeding ground out of which the food that goes into our minds is extracted.

Virtual life 'affairs' lead to divorce

I've just dicovered this new virtual community called second life. To begin with, I thought it was some kind of scientific experiment but it turned out to be an online virtual game .. and a 'notorious' one to say the least. Apparentally once registered, you can select yourself an avatar and 'play' as if you're living the life you've always wanted ... In a 'virtual' community.
However, it seems that some people have already got confused and reality became somewhat blurred with fiction that a couple was divorced for real when the wife saw her husband with another 'virtual' woman kissing on a 'virtual' sofa! The wife considers this a betrayal of their marriage vows and demands and gets a divorce!

Amazing stuff! It makes me wonder, why are these types of games that plays with people's mental well being allowed and made public in a day and age when the government wants to prevent mental health rather than treat same at great expense? Any idea?

Same goes for other online activities where you can't see or speak with those you are communicating with? Can there be a danger to mental health here too?

Are we addicted to 'blogging?' .. Can that be classified as 'mental?' :-)

I have often thought the best way to define a man's character would be to seek out the particular mental or moral attitude in which, when it comes upon him, he felt himself most deeply and intensely active and alive. At such moments there is a voice inside which speaks and says: ''This is the real me!''.
